Jennifer and Josh need to stop this "we're just friends" nonsense. Seriously.

Hook's Heroic Hour

Disclaimer: I do not own this picture.
The writers of Once Upon a Time almost had me fooled. For a moment, they almost had me believe that Hook had reverted back to a conniving (albeit sexy) scoundrel of a pirate hellbent on exacting his revenge. But those final agonizing minutes of the OUAT winter finale was a true testament to the bona fide hero we've all known Hook to be. And so I would like to take a moment to honor Hook and the sacrifice he made to save the woman he loves. May this not be the end of the Captain Swan saga.

Love for Gale

Okay, so I know it's a long shot and this ship is totally not canon but think about it: Gale and Cressida. I mean why not? I'm not a huge fan of Gale to begin with but there was definitely a part of me that felt sorry for the guy in Mockingjay Part 2.

But I had a moment. It was a brief though enlightening moment. In the darkened theater, as I watched the scene where Cressida was attending to Gale's wounds while they all hid in Tigris's basement, I realized the untapped potential that could exist between Gale and Cressida. She would certainly have the spunk to match his fire. I think some very interesting and very steamy stories could emerge if we entertained the idea of a budding romance between these two characters.

Just a thought. God knows Gale deserves some lovin' after being rejected by Katniss, am I right?

If anyone knows of any good Gale and Cressida fanfiction, I'd love to get some recommendations.

Rough Waters for Captain Swan

It appears that Captain Swan is facing rough waters as we near the end of Season 5 in Once Upon a Time. The plot twist was cunning, unforeseen, and remarkably agonizing. Nothing could have prepared me for the emotional turmoil between Emma and Hook in these past few harrowing episodes.

As any true fangirl of this ship would know, Captain Swan's journey hasn't been an easy one. We watched their relationship evolve from being enemies to allies to friends and finally to lovers. We watched Hook protect Emma time and time again. We watched Emma's walls come down as she fell in love with the pirate captain. We watched them push each other to be better versions of themselves. And now we'll have to watch them overcome this insidious darkness together. There's a small part of me that fears we may have reached the point of no return for Captain Swan.

The situation is complicated and I empathize for both characters. Emma didn't want to accept the idea of a future with Hook for fear that she would lose it. And when she finally did embrace it, when she made herself vulnerable and hopeful for this future, her world instantly came crashing down. I can hardly blame her for choosing to save the love of her life.

And then there's Hook, the ruthless cold-blooded pirate who turned over a new leaf when he fell in love with Emma Swan. The one thing he hasn't been able to reconcile with is his hatred for the Dark One, and as fate would have it (damn you writers), Hook has been turned into the one thing he hates the most. His anger toward Emma is truly, but sadly, justified.

I don't know what the endgame will be for Captain Swan. I can only hope that Emma and Hook will find some way to salvage their already tarnished relationship and reunite as the ship we've all been rooting for.

Joshifer Episode 01

I swear Jennifer and Josh love to torture the fandom with false hope and unfulfilled dreams.

My Five Stages of Grief

So here's a visual representation of the emotional roller coaster I endured while watching last night's Once Upon a Time episode, "Birth". Needless to say, last night was a devastating blow to Captain Swan fans everywhere.

The S.S. Lucaya: Doomed from the Start

I think many of us Lucaya shippers saw it from the very beginning. The playful banter. The humorous name-calling. The incessant teasing. There was no denying the fiery chemistry between Maya Hart and Lucas Friar.

I have to admit that I didn't start out shipping these two. But after watching only a few episodes of Girl Meets World (GMW), I immediately saw appeal and intrigue of the Lucaya story arc.

So you can imagine my delight when the writers of GMW  started to entertain the possibility of this pairing. And you can also imagine my despair when the writers of GMW completely crashed this ship on the rocky shores of Never-Happening Island (I may have taken this analogy too far).

Suffice it to say that the Girl Meets Texas episodes could have been handled better. I understand that the writers were simply trying to portray the complicated mess that is young love. However I felt that poor Lucas was forced onto Riley and then Maya without much choice. It was quite aggravating to watch.

And now the ball is in the writers' court and we can only wait in agony until we get a proper resolution this love triangle. I will say though that I have pledged my allegiance to the Lucaya fandom and I will go down with this ship fighting for these two like a proper fangirl.

Just Another Table-Flipping Day

This is pretty much how I feel when the writers screw up a ship.

And then afterwards, I straighten the table and start writing fanfiction because that's the reasonable response when all your hopes and dreams for a pairing have been shattered.

Speaking of which, check out my fanfiction when you get a chance: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/4033266/Areyl.

Starting a New Voyage

I never thought I would see the day when I would start blogging. But I have been writing fanfiction for as long as I can remember so maybe this is just the inevitable order of things, right?

At my core, I am a fangirl. It's not something I readily admit to most people. In fact, I think only my closest friends know of the obsessive nature of my inner fangirl. Nonetheless it is a part of myself that I cannot deny and as a tried-and-true fangirl, I have my armada of ships.

And so we come to the main focus of this blog. Fangirl's Armada will serve as an open expression of my deep admiration and obsession for all my fandom ships. I don't know where this voyage will lead us (if you choose to join me, that is); but I can guarantee you that it will be quite an adventure.
